Help with BeanList

A coffee journal that remembers what you liked and why.

Where your journal is stored

BeanList keeps your bags, notes, and ratings on your device. There's no account and no cloud sync. If you're switching devices or deleting the app, export a backup first so you don't lose anything.

Back up your journal

Tap the export icon at the top of the Journal tab to save your bags as a CSV file. Keep it somewhere you trust, like iCloud Drive or Files.

Reading bag text

When you add a photo of a bag, BeanList tries to read the roaster, coffee name, origin, process, and variety printed on it. That happens entirely on your device. Bag printing varies a lot, so it's worth double checking what it fills in.

Troubleshooting

  • If the app looks out of date, quit and reopen it.
  • If a bag's flavor profile still says it's brewing, rate a few more bags. It needs at least 3 before it starts showing detail.
  • If a photo won't attach, check that BeanList has camera or photo library access in your device Settings.
  • If you're moving to a new device, export a CSV backup from the old one first.

Privacy

BeanList is built to keep your coffee journal local. Read the Privacy Policy for the details.
